Force Genre when Refreshing Metadata

I have a bunch of movie backups with the wrong movie genre assigned in the individual m4v container. Is it possible to override the genre settings with Plex Refreshing Metadata? Just running from the UI does not override container settings. If not, any other suggestions?

You can edit the movie info (the Pencil) in the pre-play screen.
