Found a bug with the posters

Hello i use QNAP with plex 1.32.1.6999 and found bug with the posters. (I think it’s not just QNAP)

There is a movie where the meta data from the Internet is not automatically matched.
I press match, the desired movie is found, I press apply and the cover is missing (a description of the meta data - ok).
And if then I press edit and select the adjacent posters, they are not applied, and the next time I come they are left empty.
Recorded even a video.

If you need any additional information, just tell me, I will do it for FIX THIS BUG. 😀

Hi there are i can find the email for bug report?

Can we see your server logs right after trying to change a poster

i see 502 or Connection refused then try download url.jpg

Well, it’s like the pictures disappear and it turns out that I can never choose them again.
Even if it’s a problem with the Internet or the availability of the picture site, the pictures shouldn’t disappear.

Who else does not understand what the problem is, if the problem with my connection or the problem with the temporary inaccessibility of the site from which the pictures are pulled, when everything is restored, I will not be able to apply the already disappeared pictures. Even if I press “no match meta data” again and then click “load meta data with the selection of the desired movie,” the disappeared pictures will still be disappeared.

Are there any living people here at all? )
Who will explain how to put the bug project?

I can’t find a task tracker like Jira,
I can’t find a github where you can put the issue,
I can’t find the bug mail.

Why is Plex’s communication with the community so poor?

A Plex employee has asked to see your logs in order to help troubleshoot your issue, but so far you haven’t provided them.

Help them, help you.

The problem is clear and understandable. I have described both the methods of playback and what the error is.

Keep the logs, the logs downloaded 10-20 seconds after playing the problem.

The request to the source image is failing due to a SSL error:

May 30, 2023 12:43:58.030 [139745336404792] WARN - [HttpClient/HCl#29c1] HTTP error requesting GET https://image.tmdb.org/t/p/original/2KLkGP0qWZlNGOad2O6P069hlw0.jpg (60, SSL peer certificate or SSH remote key was not OK) (SSL: no alternative certificate subject name matches target host name ‘image.tmdb.org’)

This means that we weren’t able to verify the security certificate. I’d start by seeing if you can access that URL on your local network.

Please provide your own logs, your issue may be completely unrelated.

Yes! That’s why I wrote the post above.
Again. Even if I restore the connection, the “voids” instead of posters will still be there.
The only thing you can do then is to delete the plex, clear all the folders and yes then the “empties” will be re-downloaded.
This is the problem.
You should not delete posters if this error occurs.

Or do you think this is the valid and correct state of the program?

Curious — does Clean Bundles help at all to clear the “voids” ? → https://support.plex.tv/articles/226836308-help

If it does not have you tried nuking the server side cache (when the server is stopped).

rm -rf /var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application\ Support/Plex\ Media\ Server/Plug-in\ Support/Caches/*
rm -rf /var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application\ Support/Plex\ Media\ Server/Cache/PhotoTranscoder/*

BTW… path would need to be adjusted for your system.

Yes it works, fewer steps than mine described with the complete removal of the plex.
But it’s a hack until the next problem, until the next time the site is unavailable again.
This is a code problem. It’s solved by fixing the bug in code, not having users go into the file system to clear the caches.
