Freeview EPG/Missing Channel Data

Thanks

It’s similar oddities in the other soaps, but if we can get a fix in to correct this one, then hopefully the change will fix the others

I will report the other ones later if they are still wrong

The problem you reported with show and episode number is now understood and is being looked into

Thanks

Will check similar shows when this is fixed, hopefully this should fix a few errors at once

Slightly OTT - is Neighbours repeated on the Paramount Network?
Look how many times the same episode is on (obviously some are +1 and HD channels)

Yes, it is repeated many many times on various Five channels

Just noticed in your shot though, you have a proper description, I get something generic and it mentions Des Clarke who left over 20 years ago…eek (looking again, that might not be the Plex EPG)

I’m using the not currently supported method - my TV Tuner is actually a Raspberry Pi with the TV Hat. It’s running TVHeadend - so that’s a screenshot from TVHeadend which is displaying the broadcast OTA EPG directly from Freeview.

Not sure who owned the Paramount channel when we had it years ago

Nowadays it is run by Five (or is it Channel 5 now)

5 is owned by Sony, who own Tiny Pop, Pop, and Pop Max asking with the CBS channels, and a few more.
As for description and roof, just getting region’s up and running is a fete in itself!

New beta out

Release Notice for 1.16.1.1273 i has now been added - see Plex Media Server

  • (DVR) Don’t default to Episode 1. (#10207)
  • (DVR) Users in Canada can now set up a new DVR, using a space in the postal code. (#10204)
  • (DVR) Users in Ireland can now set up a new DVR.
  • (DVR) Additionally show channel title in DVR setup where only an internal channel identifier is present.

You do need a full guide refresh to correct the errors for E1

OK, I’ve checked.
The “Freeview Scotland (Border) OTA Broadcast” lineup, labels

02: BBC2 as BBC Scotland instead of BBC Two (as I said previously, it’s just the national channel now).
102: BBC 2 NI HD. Northern Ireland? Really?

It actually appears that the BBC Scotland channel does exist in the EPG, it’s called BBC Scotland - but it’s been stuck at 002 instead of 009 and 115 for the HD version (and means BBC Two National - which should be at position 002 and 102 as the HD version is missing)

Same issue as asjmcguireplex but with ‘Freeview STV Central OTA’

But channel 3 (STV) seems to be wrong, doesn’t match the guide, the hdhomerun dvr got it right.

Also, a lot of missing channels:
48 movies4men+1
77 TCC
82 BBC FOUR
83 NOW 80s
84 NOW 90s
115 BBC Scotland HD
211 Ketchup TV
235 Al Jazeera Eng
251 365 Travel
253 Proud Dating
261 Racing UK
263 Sonlife
265 Planet Knowledg
266 Sports Channel
268 Box Nation
269 Arise News
270 Loveworld
795 Arqiva Test Cha

Postcode: G72

003 is a known issue.
082, 009, and 115 I have told them about.
795 Technically isn’t a channel that has listings.

All the rest you will have to go through the process of filling in the Google form with the data on the missing channels.

Hope that helps.

@asjmcguireplex We should be seeing new regional EPG’s soon, then it’s test a little. Looks like the first issue was the Freeview website? Who’d have thought they’d have the worst TV Guide of them all???
Ah, I’m in and out all day today, so just awaiting confirmation that the new EPG’s are ready for testing, seems that Digiguide will be used instead?

Dave

It is no surprise the Freeview EPG is the worst, it is the free option, paid options provide much better data

Anyway

Dont think it’s really ready for testing yet, I dont see an EPG with lots of E1 in it now, but lots of shows now have a date of airing 1/1 instead
It’s just replaced one issue with another as far as i can see

@asjmcguireplex How have you got the plugin working under Plex? I’ve finally got tvheadend up and running on my server, and got it scanning the multiplexes without any issues, but when I come to add the plugin to the Plex media server folder in Linux, the plug-in isn’t being seen.
Can someone direct me to getting this plugin seen?
I’m only doing this as a fallback, but would love to get this up and running

Dave

I don’t use the Plugin. I just use tvhProxy and let Plex think it’s a HD Homerun.

Just tried Freeview Central (West) OTA Broadcast, I’m based in the West Midlands UK, and the guide looks much more promising than previously, with a lot of incorrect channels adjusted. However, here is my list of issues (most of which have probably been mentioned already), but just for reference:

13 - E4 - mapping shows Channel 4 not E4
32 - Sony Movie Channel - only shows ‘Sony Movie Channel - UK Programming’, no actual listings
39 - CBS Justice - mapping shows CBS Action +1 not CBS Justice
42 - Home - only shows ‘Home (Freeview) Programming’, no actual listings
54 - Paramount Network - only shows ‘Radio Programming’, no actual listings
55 - 5Select - only shows ‘Channel 5 Programming’, no actual listings
72 - YourTV - only shows ‘Unknown Airing’, no actual listings
83 - Now80’s - no mapping
84 - Now90’s - no mapping
91 - PBS America - only shows ‘To Be Announced’, no actual listings
93 - Travel XP - only shows ‘To Be Announced’, no actual listings
96 - Forces TV - only shows ‘Forces TV Programming’, no actual listings
99 - Smithsonian - only shows ‘Radio Programming’, no actual listings

I’ll submit them via the form too. As a note, this is on the updated 1.16.1.1273, which DID require a full refresh to remove the E1 issue

Updates on my side have cleared most issues, but a few persist:

54 - Paramount Network - listings are -1 hours out (11am programmes, listed as 10am)
72 - YourTV - only shows ‘Unknown Airing’, no actual listings
91 - PBS America - only shows ‘To Be Announced’, no actual listings
93 - Travel XP - only shows ‘To Be Announced’, no actual listings
96 - Forces TV - only shows ‘Forces TV Programming’, no actual listings
99 - Smithsonian - only shows ‘Radio Programming’, no actual listings

Updated via the normal link, and using 1.16.1.1291

All the mapping issues listed were fixed by Monday - if not please let me know the post code and which channels remain on wrong number or not available. The DVR needs to be deleted in server settings and recreated to pick channel changes

The 54 Paramount channel issue where the EPG is 1 hour out has been referred to our provider

For Program data, please let me know if the issue remains -
