Freezing on Toshiba-Vestel TVs (VS1143UE1 / VS1143UD1) with AC3 audio in direct play

Hi,
I have two Toshiba-Vestel TVs:

  • VS1143UE1

  • VS1143UD1

Both have the same issue: when playing content from Plex with AC3 (stereo) audio in direct play for both video and audio, the TV eventually freezes completely.

It doesn’t happen immediately: sometimes it freezes after just a few minutes, and other times it takes longer. Once it happens, the only solution is to power the TV off and on again.

The TV firmware and Plex app are updated to the latest available version.

Has anyone else with these models experienced this?
Is there any solution or setting to prevent AC3 from being used in direct play?
