I am not sure if this is in the right forum, if not I apologize.

I have my plex server running on my Qnap TS-453D, I have remote access setup, When I send out an invite to a friend, what are they suppose to do with it, if they are watching my stuff on a smart TV.

Yes everything is share properly, I am just wondering when they get the invite, when they start the plex app on their smart tv , what do they need to do to point the TV app to my server?

the invite email is automated and should be sent fairly instantly

And what they will see, on their plex app -
will depend it they already have plex server, or already have other plex shares, or if this is the 1st time they’ve ever loaded it

also, if they don’t want to wait for the email, they can just go to
https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/users-sharing

and accept the share that way

You keep saying the desktop, I am talking about the plex media player app on a smart TV that supports the app natively. It is easy on a laptop, or desktop, I just need to be able to tell my friends what to do with the invite, so they can stream to their TV’s.

They can not accept the invite, from their TV
They need to use a web browser to do that.

Are you adding them to your Plex Home, or are you inviting them as a standard share?

Generally yes, but you asked how your friend connects YOUR plex account to their TV. So I wanted to find out if you had used Plex Home
