Friend on the Internal network - does it stream internally?

Hi, sorry if this is a stupid question or has been answered before.

I have added my housemate as a Friend to my Plex account, if he streams using my shared library does it stream the files within the internal network? (seeing as he will be using it in his bedroom on the network my media server resides in).

I hope that qst made sense. I don’t want to give him my credentials so was hoping he can log in with his account and stream internally and bypassing my media server uploading and then having to download back to the same LAN.

As long as you and he are on the same local network the streaming will not go outside the router you are both connected to.
