FRUSTRATED! MyCloud Home is constantly disconnecting from Help please

Server Version#:
Player Version#:
Im getting very frustrated. I’m setting up my 8tb WD MyCloud Home as a server for Plex. All I’m using it for is music. I downloaded 330 cd’s onto the hard drive (through Apple Music) with no issues. They showed up in Plex with the artwork, etc. But not long after that, I got an error message in Plex saying MyCloud Home is currently unavailable. It randomly comes back, only to disappear again with the same message. I’m ready to give up and go back to lame Apple Music. If it makes a difference, I have a Netgear Nighthawk X6 router and the NAS is plugged into it with an ethernet cable. Also, when I have the error message in Plex, I can go into the WD app and open the hard drive and view the files. Just for some reason, Plex doesn’t want to stay connected to the hard drive

Maybe some clarifications…
is your Plex Media Server installed / running on the WD MyCloud or are you using that NAS solely as storage for a PMS running on your Mac (referring to the post’s tagging)?
Where are you experiencing those dropouts? Is this when opening Plex through a browser or with some native apps (e.g. on a mobile/tablet, a desktop player or Plexamp)?

Edit: In case you get that error message in your browser… are you connected locally to your PMS (e.g. http://[PMS IP address]:32400/web) or using the hosted web app (http://app.plex.tv/desktop)?

I have a similar problem like @KrisNodeland and FYI, MyCloud home comes with a functionality of having its own PLEX server, so we don’t run it on a separate PC/device.

The server comes & goes without any reason after working for long time properly. Upon its return, I have to rebuild the database all again which is incredibly troublesome.

PS: Just today, something new happened, the server got disabled on its own!!!

I’m having MyCloud Home 4TB and for reference, it was working for more than a year but every few weeks it just drops and I have to rebuild again.

HELP!!!
