Further tuners / Sat->IP Support?

Hi there,

I really like the UI of this.There are several channels for a variety of PVR systems/softwares… How does the HDHomeRun device work here? Is it just sending a stream to the plex server or is PMS actually using a user space tuner driver/kernel module?

Also, how about looking into adding SAT->IP support? With that we could easily add a lot of hardware. Even PCI/PCIe based DVB/ATSC cards can be used with nifty little software like minisatip or satpi, which are Opensource Sat->IP servers.

Are you going to share more details?

Cheers
Alex

Yup SAT>IP would be an excellent addition.
+1

SAT > IP support would allow a much wider device support ( i.e. DVB-S2 here in UK / Europe). A lightweight SAT > IP server on a IoT device ( Think PiZero) would allow a huge amount of legacy / existing USB tuners to be supported with very relatively small amount of work. It would also sit well with the Server / Client ethos which many Plex users prefer over Kodi etc.

There is a very promising approach here

And I am confident the Plex team will deliver robust APIs later, …, let them work on their plain and us see what comes next.

+1 for SAT>IP integration.
