Genre Action is now Action/Adventure

Hello everyone. Besides my DTS audio issue I have encountered another issue whats bugging me.

I switched to the Plex Movie agent because it was the updated version of Plex Movie (Legacy). Its supposed to be better, faster, etc.

I noticed that all of my Action movies are now listed as Action/Adventure. Before it was just genre Action. I always use “Moviemeter” as an agent to only collect genres. This is because the Plex Movie agent collects all English names instead of the Dutch version. It was all working great until I switched.

I have put Moviemeter on top but it does not work. My movies are now getting the genre directly from the Plex Movie agent. A plus side is that it is translated in Dutch from default. So Action/Adventure is listed as Actie/Avontuur.

How do I change it so that my Moviemeter agent is giving my movies the genre instead of Plex Movie. Otherwise I have to edit all my Action movies by hand. It is only by Action movies. Not with any other genre. Thanks in advance for the feedback!

PS: I dont know where to put a changerequest but I also don’t like the new episodes row in a season from a TV show. Before it was a nice clear view with a 4x4 square. Now it is 1 very long row.

This the epsiodes section in Web app that was the same as it was on Nvidia Shield. Now it is changed to 1 row on Nvidia Shield. (So below is a picture of how it looks when it was on Shield, the good view)

This not some issue or a problem but an update I personally don’t like.

The settings in your first screenshot are only valid for the old “Plex Movie (Legacy)” agent.
You have switched your library to the new “Plex Movie” agent.

In other words: unfortunately you cannot combine any 3rd-party metadata agents with the new “Plex Movie” agent.

Ah ok thanks for the reply! So for now the combination between Action and Adventure stays as it is? Or is it going to be split apart in a future update.

I know I can change it by hand but with a couple of hundreds Action Movies it is quite a job haha

i have the same issue when I changed t the new agent. can I prevent the genre from changing?

the new agent also removes the movies that end with .vob files

I think it will stay as it is. I think there is not really a clear distinction between them.

I think the only solution is the use the old agent I guess. I think im going to do it. No way im going to edit all my Action movies one by one. I don’t know why they did combine these two.

The changes to the episodes view… Instead of a 4x4 square its now 1 very long row. Can I somewhere fill in a request for change or something?

Me too man. Im not happy with this “upgrade”. I thought its newer and better so I upgrade. Only then to find out that the Action genre has dissapeared and been replaced with Action/Adventure. You can say a lot of Die Hard that it is also a Christmas movie but a adventure?? Come on haha

All my Action movies are now Action/Adventure. All of them. Why

I reset my database to an older version. The merging of the genres doesn’t work at all.
The new agent is not activated so quickly
