In the most recent Plex update, I’ve encountered some problems with my music videos in the Global folder, namely:
I’ve tried rescanning my music folder, refreshing metadata on both the artist and library level, and even renaming the folder and updating the path, but none of these have worked.
Any ideas?

Thanks for the report. An issue where these videos are getting hidden unfortunately crept in and wasn’t discovered in time before release. All the items are still in the database but they’re just not getting displayed. This will be fixed in an upcoming release.

Looks like the new update brought the videos back, though I don’t see any thumbnails, even if I refresh the artist’s metadata.
Any music videos I added before the “no global music video thumbnails bug” - that already had thumbnails - show the thumbnails once again.
The music videos I added during the “no global music video thumbnails bug”, were still missing thumbnails after upgrading to 1.15.5.994. Doing the Plex Dance will finally generate the thumbnails for those. But why should I have to do the Plex Dance to accomplish this?

I did the full Plex Dance. All of my videos are there, and none of them have thumbnail images.
In my case I have all of my music videos in a separate other videos library. My Global Music Videos folder is within the directory that my music video library points to. It was that library where I did the Plex Dance, then refreshed the metadata for the respective artists in my music libraries.
I didn’t do the Plex Dance with any of my music libraries though.
Interesting. I don’t have my music videos in any library whatsoever, they’re in a separate folder on my hard drive (I just followed the instructions somewhere on the Plex site). They’re all showing up, like before (two updates ago), but this time I can’t get any thumbnails to show up. I wonder if Plex is indexing them differently now.
Most of the time I watch my music videos from the library I set up. Since Plex implemented collections it makes it much more convenient to watch particular genres of videos. Also I can continuous play videos, rather than just one at a time from the music library.
That’s super impressive. I want to do that. Can you explain how your Global Videos is set up in relation to the “other videos” library?
The Music Videos library just references my Music Video directory, while the Local music video path points to the Artists folder within that directory.
