Go back to movies sorted by folder

I’m used to opening plex from my Apple TV, and having the nearly 1700 movies categorized by genre, like it is on my computer. Now, it’s all 1700 movies I have to sort through, because the folder option doesn’t have it set up that way anymore. And the folders option doesn’t allow for grid view, so instead of being able to see everything by movie poster art, it’s a long, single file scroll through everything, waiting for the synopsis on every movie to load line by line. Can folders support grid view so this isn’t a giant mess?

I don’t know if folder mode will ever get that. If your organization is about genres… have you considered using the Categories tab of the regular library display mode (Movies)?

That’s an even bigger mess, there’s easily 30-40 genres in there. I keep my drive simple; action, animation, romance, comedy, drama, music, science fiction, horror. The categories Plex tries to organize into is ridiculous, and makes it worse. I liked how it was where it displayed my folders, and had grid view under it. Both layouts now are trash. 1700 movies to sort through, which is a real hoot when MCU is 30 deep, or James Bond is 25 deep, and they’re all sorted in by title, and the folder option is line by line by line, and has no artwork and drags the system by loading a synopsis line by line.

I’m just going with Infuse, I want an organized library so I can find stuff.
