Goodbye to the Plex community

I have been an active poster on these forums for quite a while but, due to recent arbitrary actions taken by @ChuckPA, I will no longer be taking part in these boards.

I will not be bullied or pushed around by one person with no idea what “help” actually means so to the friends I have made on these boards I say a reluctant goodbye but there are many many other places where I can contribute and will not be subjected to the bullying that @ChuckPA decided to subject me to.

I will of course continue to use Plex I just have decided to remove myself from these boards.

I can only speak personally, but I’m sad to see you go @Elijah_Baley. You’ve been a big help to many in these forums!

Sorry to see you go @Elijah_Baley . I sent you a private message and hope you might decide to contribute to the forums in the future.

It has been brought to my attention there was a mutual misunderstanding between myself, @Elijah_Baley and @JuiceWSA .

The thread being referenced is: https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/280491/plex-for-roku-crashing-in-the-middle-of-playback

For those who are not familiar with the thread, I had read the posts and saw where the thread was referring to a third party client and not the Plex client (which is the topic and OP of the thread). As I read it further, I saw how the discussion had departed from the Original Post’s issue. I interpreted their posts as Off-topic.

The core issue is the Roku firmware which is being discussed in several other threads both here and in the Roku forums. Roku acknowledges this is an issue and has offered to downgrade the firmware for anyone so requesting it.

When I asked the above to return to the OP’s topic the misunderstanding apparently took place.

My subsequent actions appear to have cause some ill feelings. For those actions, I do apologize.

If/when I do make a mistake, please let me know. I am always open to a PM to discuss the topic and resolve peacefully.

Thanks,
Chuck

I accept the somewhat backhanded apology @ChuckPA offered and so I will resume posting on these forums.

I do not consider this a victory but rather a resolution but it is sufficient for me.

Personally I would rather, in the future, that others at Plex besides @ChuckPA have interactions with me.

This thread can now be closed as it has no further purpose.

This post is nothing new for you…

In my years here you have said you are going to leave on multiple occasions.

Seems when you don’t get your way these comments and post arise from yourself.

It’s starting to become old!

Sad that a developer would treat someone like you who always helps users out like that. I just recently cancelled my yearly Plex pass as I’m done supporting Plex. This is not the company/community I enjoy being apart of anymore. The devs don’t give a s*** about how users want to use the software and all you get for trying to be active in the community is either 1. Complete silence or 2. Ridicule.

This use to be an awesome place for people wanting to build HTPC’s and talk back and forth with developers about what they would like to see improved or added. Now the developers don’t respond and when they do all you get is short basic answers and no real conversation going. I’ve been with Plex for many many years but now I will just use it as freeware and expect nothing in return from the developers. If you still keep posting here then good for you man but I’m done with this place.

Cheers,

@Elijah_baley glad you decided to stay around, you have contributed a lot and we appreciate it even if critical

Though I understand the irony of me closing this thread. Don’t need more bad blood brewing that might occur, it just doesn’t help to have things move on.
