I agree. I don’t mind the grey background on it, but the gradient fade moving up the screen is unnecessary, ugly, and intrusive. Whatever you do to fix this, the background of the OSD should not extend more than necessary above the controls.
I agree with your point about it not extending past the playback controls interface but I really would prefer no tint or colour at all. The less amount of stuff covering my content, the better.
I’d also like the option to see the 1st couple of lines of the program description in the OSD. You then wouldn’t have to stop the video to go back and read it.
The UI should be clean and there was nothing wrong with the black before. It looked classy. Now it’s just bleak.
Please stop arguing points that aren’t relevant to the discussion. I would like to see some discourse between the devs and the users as to why they want to use grey over black / transparent.
The devs literally changed from grey to black the last time I asked this so yes, I do believe a discussion can be had given there was one last time I raised this is and yes, a developer responded. Please stop derailing the subject.
This is a channel for feedback, if something doesn’t fit right, this is the place to voice that feedback as I have done here.
Raising a small user experience issue does not detract from any larger design changes. All changes can be considered and I’m not taking anything away by politely requesting a change. If you’re unhappy with the design of the app I suggest to create your own thread instead of discussing it here.
