I haven’t seen any posts on issues with the new grid view. I love it so far, but here are to problems I have.
Some OTA channels in the grid do not match what was scanned in “Manage Channels” settings. See Channel 2.1 (it is supposed to be WCBS NY which is correct in the settings, but the Guide shows 2.1= MeTV (from Philly)
For example, there is a bug where setting up a record using a later airing in the guide results in the earlier or currently airing being recorded. So lets say you want to record “The Expanse” S01E10 at 1:00am as soon as that is selected in the guide it will immediately start recording the current airing (if airing at the time) or an earlier airing rather then what you selected from the guide.
If you try to modify the record and specify the air time there, often the options for recording times simply don’t match actual air times in the guide. What happens if you choose an air time that doesn’t exist for the given show? I don’t know but it shouldn’t even be an option.
Another grid guide bug:
For those with cablecard, attempting to live tune an HD channel using the new grid guide via the Plex Media Server web interface results in the SD equivalent for the given channel.
This bug has also now spread to the new Windows Plex Media Play.
Another bug shows scheduled recordings incorrectly.
I can go to just about any scheduled recording in my servers calendar view and the channel / resolution is listed incorrectly.
For example:
12 Monkeys is listed as being scheduled to record on channel 112 SyFy (SD). If I select “Modify Recording” > “Show Advanced” and drill down to “Limit To Channel” it is already set to channel 630 which is the HD SyFy channel.
So the reported channel for recording is just wrong and likely has something to do with why the grid guide tunes to the wrong SD channel when HD is selected.
The good news is that recordings are made on the correct HD channel.
Another bug:
I have a couple of channels in the guide that are incorrect.
ShowTime and ShowTime2 are listed in my guide but tune to totally different channels. I didn’t expect premiume channels to show up at all but if they did one would expect them to be encrypted and nonfunctional. I didn’t expect them to just tune to the wrong channel.
If you’re having issues with the plex guide, you can try creating your own guide using zap2xml…there are still a few issues with the layout which i’ve listed here Having issues with Grid view layout but from what i’ve seen the guide data is working fine.
Here is another grid view bug that I am seeing. For some reason shows that are going to record cause duplicate entries in the grid view and push all additional shows out to later incorrect times. In the attached image
the show “Mom” only airs once, at 9:00PM, but for some reason it is erroneously duplicated at 9:30PM. Same thing happens with the next show “Life in Pieces”. It only aired once that night, at 9:30PM. But my grid view showed it erroneously twice at 10:00PM and 10:30PM.
