When plex scans my channels coming in from HDHomeRun Prime but whenever I select to watch a channel in HD, it always tunes in the SD Version of the same channel,
is that the expected result?
Seems to be happening to me as well. Going out and re-selecting the HD channel seems to fix it though…

Yeah its been a known bug from the day one launch of the new grid guide. That is to say I reported it on day one and there was some indication that they were aware of it or passing on the info so that they would be.

I can seem to get any HD Channels, just the SD Versions.
This is happening to me too. It loads HD if I click play on the channel itself, but only loads SD if I click play directly on the show. I’m new to this LiveTV/DVR, so I don’t know how or if this affects recording.
I don’t think it suppose to act this way, but no one has answered… Plex? Plex Ninja? Bueller?
Just noticed today that all my HD channels are not on the guide. With my cable all my HD Channels are on a different set of channels and when i do the channel scan they all come up but guide channel for it shows blank, if i select the channel it is and hit save it says cant have duplicated selection so i have to unselect the SD channel to get the HD one to work. So to get my HD channels i would have to do that for each channel ugh … Hope they fix that soon. is there a spot for reporting bugs lol
Same problem for me too. Very annoying and makes the whole thing a bit useless!
Yeah, that is no fun. I haven’t run into this but then again I haven’t had to do a tuner setup / scan since my DVR is already setup. I also wouldn’t want to have to do this because Imactually want my SD channels along with my HD channels and I have good reason for wanting them.
Even still this is an annoying bug. It is also duplicated in the Windows Plex Media Player software with the new grid guide.
The good news is that the new Apple TV grid guide implementation doesn’t have this bug.
On the server side though, scheduled recordings are listed erroneously as being SD but if you specify the HD channel it will record the HD channel (it will still list it as SD though).
So yeah, The Plex dev team have some bugs to squash.

To put it in perspective, it wasn’t that long ago that we were clamoring for the Plex dev team to implement the full grid guide. We finally have that now which is great.
Recalling there was a noteworthy delay in its release due to bugs needing to be addressed.
The irony is that we are now clamoring for them to fix the bugs in the grid guide,…

So you’re saying you can actually get the grid guide to load HD rather then only SD when an HD channel is selected?

I’m also having a similar issue. Plex is now ignoring all me previously scheduled recordings as I’ve set them to record in HD only. I’ve just tried to make a single recording tonight from Ch5 on channel 105 using the guide and it’s set to record the SD version on channel 5. I’ve gone into the advanced setting, limit to channel, but the only channel options are 5 or all even though the guide shows the HD on 105 and that have the record symbol on it!
Any idea when this bug is going to be fixed?

Similar issue using UK Freeview. The Plex HD channels do show up in the EPG (grid view), but when selected, Plex shows them in SD.
