Has anyone had issues with the Guide not filling in all details of episodes until after forcing a refresh?
I noticed last night that it wasn’t going to record any episodes of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” because they weren’t new, but in a different software package (long story) I saw that the episodes were indeed all new this week. The other interesting thing was that for each episode it just had a generic description of the Late Show, but previously it had always listed the guests for that episode. I did a manual refresh of the Guide, and boom, the detailed description popped in for the episodes listing the guests for each one and listing them all as “NEW” and adding them to the record schedule.
If this is a recurring problem this could have HUGE implications on missing NEW episodes of a show!!! Has anyone had this issue? Does anyone know why this might be happening???
Yes, that started happening to me a few weeks ago. If I do a manual refresh one day, the automatic update will overwrite the existing data with “unknown airing” for all channels at all times. I started to manually update each morning so that I could record that day’s programs, which worked until today. Now, after a manual refresh, it says the guide is empty. Several retries attempted, same results. I went to my server ( a Win 10 box), did a refresh there and its guide has full info. However, I then went to my computer which still said guide is empty. Looked at my wife’s computer - same thing. It looks like the apps are not communicating with the server (at least the guide portion). The recorded TV programs show up in the app and will play. Just the guide info is not being sent from the server to the app.
My guide data populates out to my other devices, but it’s still not refreshing properly, and what’s weird is that it only seems to affect certain shows, mainly in my case, The Late show with Stephen Cobert, which makes me wonder if the networks don’t send the individual episode data more than a week ahead for shows like that where guests have to be lined up. If that’s the case, why Isn’t Plex updating the guide frequently enough, is there a way to force Plex to update the guide more frequently? This just happened again BTW, I went to check yesterday to see if it was going to record The Late Show this week, and sure enough, ONLY Monday was going to record, so I did a manual refresh of the Guide, then boom, it showed that it was going to record them all week.
Better question here, is there a way on the back end to force the guide to refresh more frequently?
Here is an example of the Guide Data issue I have, 1st pic is of The Late Show for Tonight, the 2nd one is for next Wednesday, notice that it’s a generic description with no episode information, now if I go and Manually refresh the guide on Monday, it will populate all the episode data for that Wednesday showing and then record it.
