Hang during commercials

I’m using the Plex app on a Roku with Players Pass. All software is up to date.

I have regular issues where a series of commercials play and then one hangs. Usually it is one of the last couple. If I exit the show or even Plex and restart the show it will remove 1 commercial and still hang at the same numberer commercial. For example, there might be 9 commercials and it hangs on number 8. After restarting there are 8 commercials and it hangs on 7 and the cycle continues. This happens on a daily basis.

The commercial it hangs on never starts, so I can’t see if it’s the same product commercial. It just starts with a black screen and the countdown timer and doesn’t progress. The only way I can get past it is to completely reboot the Roku device. At some point it will happen again.

This is very annoying. There needs to be a method of getting support.

I’m assuming this is happening during our on-demand streaming content.

Do you have any network level ad blocking like piHole or adGuard?

May be timeouts. Is it possible to get the roku logs after it happens.

Yes, it is on-demand shows. I do not have any type of blocking devices on my network. Just a wireless modem/router that I’ve had for a few years with no issues. None of the other streaming services that I use have this issue.

I’ll try to remember to capture logs the next time it happens.
