From what I can see they are trying to figure out a larger issue that causes the problem of merging similar shows. Sorry to not have any ETA

I got an email with a reply from you @BigWheel but I don’t see it here for some reason.

But yes you are correct, TVDB lists it as one show, and TMDB lists it as two.

Plex thinks the show is called " Hard Knocks: Training Camp" which isn’t even listed on either site.

The metadata for this show has been a mess for years and I’m not really sure why everyone keeps changing what they are calling it.

IMO TVDB is correct, it is all one show, that is what Plex should be using.

Agreed, TVDB has it correct. All three versions (training camp, in season and offseason) should be one show which just started season 25.

Whether we get these merged into the single show it is listed as in most databases and HBO itself or Plex is able to pick up the separate series as they are listed in TMDB, something needs to be done. As it stands, In Season is lost in limbo, unable to be matched via TMDB at all either as a season of Hard Knocks or as a separate show. Another possible solution could be to just let us select TVDB on a show-by-show basis without having to switch the entire library to that metadata source.

Well that’s why this one is weird. We do have the ability to select the episode ordering on a show by show basis without changing the whole library, but this series doesn’t give you the option for TVDB.

I poked metadata team about it but I can’t give any ETA on any fix. I’m not sure why TVDB is not showing at all. I think this show had the issue of multiple TVDB ID’s for some reason at one point i think due to bad entries there but not sure.
