I don’t think either of them are 100% correct. In fact it looks like it’s supposed to be maybe a combination of the two. Anyway, I wonder if this is the cause of the issue?
I don’t usually have any issues, and I’ve never had to ask for help before, but this has me stumped. Have tried matching to either entry, Plex dance etc. Does anyone have any ideas?
It needs to be purged from TVDB.
It may be the very reason for the issues.
However, I don’t know how to report duplicates to the moderators on TVDB these days. Even when logged in with a user account, I don’t see any links to do so.
It doesn’t help either that both IMDb and TMDB consider each of the seasons a separate show. Even on TVDB they all exist as separate shows. https://thetvdb.com/search?query=ed+stafford
You are probably best off to follow the listings on TMDB instead and separate all seasons into their own show. Then attach the appropriate TMDB-ID to the folder of each of these shows.
Thank you for looking at this. I will raise a request to have the duplicate purged (hopefully).
But I thought I could force Plex to match the desired show by matching with the correct tvdb id (267542) but it seems not?
I have had trouble correcting issues like this since migrating to the plex managed matching agent - it was much easier when it was just the legacy TVDB agent it seems.
You will probably fail at this, since all other sources think they are all separate shows.
No. The unified data model of plex doesn’t allow this at the moment. Since all the episodes are also part of their own, individual shows, the unified show on TVDB doesn’t get recognized correctly.
Well, not sure how, but it is fixed. Refreshed metadata today and everything pulled through. All I can think of is that someone was messing with the metadata on one of the sources at around the time I was matching episodes in my library. Thanks again for taking the time to look at this!
The resolution for anyone else having this issue? Don’t know. Try refresh again tomorrow!
