Hardware transcoding broken in latest update (1.40.5.8854)

After updating to PMS version 1.40.5.8854 hardware transcoding fails and produces the following error: “There was an unexpected error during playback. Please visit our forums if you continue to experience problems.”.

This is the same problem experienced with a recent beta, that was reported here and resolved with a test version of PMS I had been using since without issue. After upgrading to version 1.40.5.8854 the problem has returned, forcing me to downgrade back to version 1.40.5.8665 to use hardware transcoding. It appears the bug from the previous beta preventing hardware transcoding from functioning properly made its way into the latest public release.

I am seeing the same issue with 1.40.5.8854, still using Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS so is not related to the 24.00 ubuntu issue either.

To add to this, it appears only to affect web player and the windows plex app. Android apps, tv’s etc seem to work fine. What on earth is happening here Plex?
