Now that I have no need for my MacMini client and I’ll be using our X1 as the primary media player in our house, I’m wondering what would be the best way to control everything.
Has anyone out there coupled their harmony remote with their media set up? Primarily a TV/Cable/Xbox/Receiver combo.
I’m curious how it will work with the cable functions (DVR/Menu/guide functions) alongside the Xbox one navigation and its own TV guide offering.
Any input or results would be appreciated.

I am currently using my Harmony remote to control my soundbar/tv/xbox one and it works great! I don't have cable so I don't use it to control my cable box but to control plex it works great.
Set up activities as normal but adjust all power settings so that the harmony does no power control or leaves everything on all the time. The use xbox button on console or “Xbox On” voice control to turn all your decices on.
I have an activity for watch TV and another for Use Xbox One, selecting either just adjust the harmony buttons and doesn’t change any inputs or turn anything on/off.
Works for me 
I've set up my Harmony so it turns everything on (TV, receiver and Xbox One). And when i'm in the Xbox One activity I can control my Xbox One with my Harmony One remote. I mapped the navigation buttons etc to match the Xbox One so I don't have to use the controller or smartglass to use my Xbox One.
I also use my Harmony. I only have some issues with my cable-box that doesn't seem to comply with HDMI specs (or perhaps the version of HDMI is too old) so the XB1 can't power cycle it but using Harmony to do that on all devices actually works. I was a bit worried that the harmony would turn it on, and the xbox would turn it off at the same time.. but that hasn't happened. I think the HDMI spec is a bit more intelligent than I anticipated :)

Don’t forget you can use long and short presses on all buttons on the harmony. Handy when watching TV via the Xbox HDMI pass through… All my short presses are TV controls and long pressed are Xbox controls

Which harmony remote model is this on? I'm pretty sure my One doesn't have that feature.

I don't think so but would also be interested in this if there was a way to make it work.

I don’t know why it took me so long to do it. The oneguide is far better than the fios guide imho and being able to do everything with my harmony is great!
I made two separate activities.
One I called PlexBox TV which manages the X1 and receiver and then I made a separate activity called Cable Controls for when I need to control my cable box.
It all works like a dream and Plex on the X1 is already amazing even in its infancy.
