My plex media server is not finding any channels. It is a Hauppauge WinTV-DualHD.
It is however working in tvheadend, but not in plex.
The settings I need to use are as follows:
Channelcode: 4444
Frequency: 164000
DVBC
But since plex has preset the providers settings to a preset called Ziggo 164.000 I cannot verify if all settings are correct.
Tvheadend is working on Ubuntu.
I have tried getting the hauppauge to work with plex server on windows 7, windows 10, windows 10 Enterprise LTSC and Ubuntu and mac osx…
None of them work.
would like to see a solution, after a year of frustration… It is not working for about a year.
when you do the setup wizard in plex does it find it at all? how is it hooked up to the machine? according to this article, your device should be supported in Windows & Linux
I installed the drivers, I go to Plex. I Go to live tv-dvr, I see it detects the hauppauge wintv-dualhd, I continue, select cable and the Netherlands… I scan channel, and select Ziggo fast scan, 164000. I hit scan. It doesn’t find any channels… it is Both tested with Windows installed directly on the machine or in vm. Both dont work…
after 1 year of misery, if finally found the solution.
It basically means to have to expose your computer fully to hackers.
I did this in addition to what I described before.
1- disable any firewall, anti-virus, and all other protection (including all builtin protection mechanisms by microsoft)
2- Disable uac(which gives hackers an open door in)…
It is now scanning the channels and channel mappings (initialising…)
If I can view the channels, then I will have worked. Testing soon…
I got the drivers from hauppauge website… However, they stated during installation that I had to disable anti virus during installation . They never mentioned that it had to Stay off, or that uac needed to be disabled… I didn’t assume IT would all need to be off after installation…
that is odd, I have not heard that, sounds like they are not getting their drivers signed by Microsoft… I’m not sure what else to suggest on this one, other than switching to something like an HDHomeRun.
