Hauppauge WinTV QuadHD tuning question

I have recently got a Hauppauge WinTV QuadHD and have hooked it up to my Ubuntu 22.04.2 and since I’m running Plex server in Docker I’ve added the appropriate devices to the docker-compose.yml file like so:

 devices:
      - /dev/input/by-id/usb-HCW_dualHD_0014215854-event-ir
      - /dev/input/by-id/usb-HCW_dualHD_0014215855-event-ir

However upon setting it up in the Plex web UI both sources show different numbers of channels even though the QuadHD is connected to the same single antenna.

Is this expected behaviour? I would have expected the channels to be the same. The first one can detect the HD channels such as BBC1 HD etc. but the second it seems cannot. Does this mean that I effectively only have 2 tuners for recording/watching the HD channels instead of 4?

Sorry if this is a bit of a daft question. :grimacing:

Just a quick update I managed to fix this by using TVHeadEnd and Antennas so that it displays as a single HDHomeRun device that seems to work flawlessly. Apparently Plex isn’t very good at the whole scanning thing.

You have channels with low to no signal is why both sets of tuners show different numbers. Do a re-scan until they match.
