Have to restart ATV2 every day to be able to access PlexConnect

Does anyone else have this problem? When I haven't used Plex/PlexConnect for a while I cannot access it from Apple TV 2. But when restarting Apple TV 2 it's all working. I'm using the latest version of ATV2, Plex and PlexConnect (I updated everything yesterday, just to make sure).

What could be wrong?

If you don’t mind being on iOS 5.3. I had another user restore to that a ipsw then use post #231 from here and it solved their issue. This creates a new dedicated app called plexconnect on your Apple TV 2 and makes your appletv portable as a bonus:

Im not sure if something could be an issue with the latest version of plexconnect or not. Im running a modified version at the moment.

For what it's worth, I'm pretty sure your problem is not widespread; certainly doesn't come up much around here, and I've never seen it. That's not info that'll help you solve it, but at least is some context. :)

Is PlexConnect the only thing on the ATV that fails after a while? Everything else is still fine? How long is "a while"? Does it coincide with the ATV's sleep cycle? How exactly does it fail? What do you see on the ATV's screen when it's failing? Does anything odd show up in the PlexConnect terminal window?

I do a hard reset in Apple TV about once a week or 10 days. Not sure why I keep needing to do it, but it does fix the issue when I do.

We have had some users report issues with connection after sleeping but have never been able to reproduce it (mine sleeps multiple tines a day). If you put the ATV to never sleep it is only a couple of bucks in electric a year anyway as it has a very low power draw.

I've had the same issue, I just keep mine on all the time now.

Another work around is to start streaming content through iTunes first, then go back into PlexConnect and all should work as expected.

Changing the setting to never sleep solved my problem. Thank you!
