Have to Wake Server PC for Plex to Stream

Server Version#: 1.16.3.1402
Player Version#: Roku 6.3 build 11

Hi guys,

My Plex Server is a Windows 7 x64 laptop that only works if plugged in to power.

After watching something on our Roku if I try to watch something else it won’t load or if it does it will start buffering at 13 % but just stays like that.

If I go to my laptop & tap the Ctrl key (which wakes it’s screen) then the buffering will continue on the Roku & I can watch my movie uninterrupted. I don’t close the lid because it also seems to cause the problem).

In my power settings “Sleep” is set to “Never”. So I would have thought I am only waking the screen when I tap Ctrl.

My hard disk won’t turn off until 9999 minutes have passed.

Wireless Adapter Power Saving Mode is set to Maximum Performance.

USB Selective Suspend is disabled.

Allow Wake Timers is disabled. (Not sure what this is.)

GPU Power Sate is Set to Maximum Performance.

When Sharing Media is set to Prevent Idling to Sleep.

When Playing Video is set to Optimize Video Quality.

PCI Express Link State Power Management is set to Off (instead of power saving options).

There is also a setting in Device Manager to allow Windows to turn off the network card to save power. This is disabled.

Is there something I’ve missed?

Thanks

The most important setting:
In Plex web, go to
Settings - Server - Settings - General - ‘Show Advanced’ - “Support Away Mode when preventing system sleep” <-- TICK
