My server doesn't sleep but Plex shows it disconnected all of the time

I have a Windows 11 PC that is my media server and under the power settings in Windows, I have set everything to not sleep except for the monitor. The computer is always on, always “awake” so to speak.

The problem is that on my Plex on the Apple TV (which is fully up to date), I always get the triangle with the exclamation mark in it next to all of my media. I click on “TV” for example and it will show me all of my shows but they’re not ready to play. When I click on a show to watch, it spins and doesn’t load. I have to do this for 2 to 3 minutes every time I want to watch something and it seems like the media player is waiting for the server to wake up.

I just don’t understand what could be going on. Any tips?

Where are your media stored?

Settings - Server - General - ‘Show Advanced’ - “Support Away Mode when preventing system sleep”

Properties of the network adapter in your server machine. Set it to never sleep or save power. Don’t allow it to reduce the link speed to save power.

Thank you so much! You nailed it! The problem was that deep in the settings for the network adapter was the setting to shut off the adapter to save power. I unchecked that and everything works so well now. Thank you!
