I hope you can help me. By accident I misconfigured my daughters Plex account which should give her access to my Plex server (hosted on a Synology disk station). She uses an iOS device for accessing it.
As I found out about my mistake I wanted to start over with the account creation. Therefore I deleted the user in my dash board. But it seems that Plex now no longer sends e-mails to her mailbox. When I try to log in via the Plex web interface the password is not accepted. Resetting the password does not work (due to no e-mail received). Registering a new account with the given address does not work (error: e-mail already in use). The invitation link gets rejected as well (but I don’t know why).
What would you recommend to do now? I have several other family members accessing the server without any problem.
You can’t delete an account from your dash board. Do you mean you deleted them as a friend?
Sounds like you deleted their Plex account. As indicated when you delete an account, you cannot reuse the username or email for 30 days.
They can’t accept an invite without a Plex account. They will need to make a new Plex account with a new email address, and you need to invite that account, or PM me the email and I can restore that account.
Thank you for your informative answer. I will send you a PM with my daughters e-mail address. It would be great if you could restore her account. As soon as the problem is completely solved I will mark your posting as “solution”.
