I have added/been added by a friend, and they are listed in my account under “Sharing”…although when I try to connect it says “unavailable”.
How do I fix the connection so that we can share her 2 libraries? I do not have any libraries yet, because I am still brand new at this, and do not even know how to add things to my library, so I trying to share hers for now.
What am I not doing properly?

Your friends server is probably not set up for remote access or the remote access on their server need to be looked at. They might just have to restart their server computer but may be more involved.
Anyway it sounds like it is something they need to fix on their end.
Thank you @BigWheel…that may actually be the issue. I remember when they showed me Plex and we tried this before, they did say there seemed to be a problem on their end and they would look into it.
They have two great libraries they are sharing with me, but I still do not know how to add to my own library, or from where?

Do you have your own Plex Media Server installed on your computer? when your server is selected click the + sign that shows when hovering over the word Libraries. In the library window you first pick the type of library you are making like “Movies” then you tell it what folder on your computer you have all your movies in for example.

to add more movies to your existing library you just put the files in that same folder and then Plex will find them after scanning. if you don’t have auto scans enabled, in that ellipsis menu next to + sign choose Scan library files
