I’m having trouble getting iOS family sharing to work with my recent one-time in-app purchase. According to the information at this link: https://support.plex.tv/articles/218697747-can-i-use-the-in-app-purchase-with-family-sharing/, it should be working.
Here’s what we’ve done/checked so far:
- Both devices running iOS 18.3.1
- Both our Apple account (Apple IDs) are in the “family.”
- The one-time, in-app purchase was made by the family admin (me).
- Purchase sharing is enabled (and was prior to the purchase of the Plex app).
- On my husband’s phone, when signed in with his Apple ID, when he uses the Restore Purchase button, he receives the message “Uh-oh! No previous purchase could be found for this Apple ID.”
- He is able to see the Plex app in my purchases in the App Store.
- The app was installed on his phone after I made the purchase.
- He has logged out and back in to Plex.
- He has logged out and back in to his Apple ID.
- He has restarted his phone.
- So far, he is still receiving the “Uh-oh!” message when trying to restore the app to remove the playback restrictions.
- I have searched the forums and see no other options to try, though I do see several threads with folks having trouble getting family sharing to work.
Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
