Having trouble syncing a movie to my laptop

I’m on vacation right now, and have been managing my Plex server remotely. Last night I decided to sync a movie to my laptop (which is plugged into my hotel room TV), but I’ve been having problems doing so. I set my movie to sync at original quality. Took about an hour to convert (during which my laptop fell asleep from inactivity), and when it was done, it didn’t download, and my Plex web app says it’s “waiting to be downloaded”. The movie appears in my sync library, but I can’t watch it. I’ve tried refreshing my library and even signing out and back in, and nothing worked. Any ideas?

The laptop i’m using is running Windows 8.1.

The only app to which you can Sync media is the “Plex App for Windows”, from the Windows App store.
But this one only runs on Windows 10.

You cannot sync media to the web app or any other Plex app on Windows.

So I can’t sync to the Windows 8 app? Well, that sucks.
