Original post here and bundles for pms as well as other instructions:

Maybe developing webkit is a waste of time in some users eyes or they dont use or like these bundles, but in my eyes I love having a ton of content via hbogo and maxgo on pms using pmc’s and apple tv’s as clients, I couldn’t ask for much more when I have that at my finger tips. I can confirm these bundles work fine with plexconnect on the apple tv and the lastest public pms, pmc etc. Until hbo and cinemax go away from webkit im absolutely not going to be without them by installing a pms without webkit, that just doesn’t make sense to me whatsoever. If I have to bounce back and forth from pmc to pht so be it, rowmote handles that issue just fine on osx. I will be backing up the latest working webkit enabled versions of pms, pmc, plexconnect, etc because this is a deal breaker for me if it is to be removed in newer releases for the time being. I won’t be without just tapping a movie or show on the ios app and playing it on my pmc’s easily as shown in the picture below, ya I think not. Once these 3rd party vendors move away from webkit I obviously could care less about webkit whatsoever. Yes I know Hbogo is native on the atv but maxgo is not. Also using pmc’s its easy to use this method to watch maxgo/hbogo content without using a web browser to navigate these vendors which is way more streamlined using pms & pmc’s.
Until this happens with these channels the easiest way is to enable these bundles on osx is by installing google chrome and setting it as your default browser and leaving it running all the time minimized, I also set it to autostart with osx hidden @ boot, then enabled webkit & disabling capability checking in pms. Once that is done quit pms and reopen it. I assume you installed flash, soundflower, and silverlight. You must not log out or lock your screen, also its only a 1-way street with webkit as in only one client at a time. Enjoy everyone else that uses these as well
I believe most of the issues people have is understanding how to setup webkit properly. Close all other broswers but chrome, download the plexapp on ios or have your atv hooked to your tv, sit in front of your mac play something from one of those devices, then make sure you login to your provider using the plex webkit window quickly and save the password on your provider before hand using your mac on chrome. Once it has been set up its very reliable and easier then searching on other plugins for working links.
I would imagine this would be similar on other operating systems as well, but I only own mac’s so I cannot be sure it would be.
I really don’t see this a Plexconnect related post. Is it here because Gerk shooed you away from the Plex Channels forum on a similar topic? And I have used WebKit Channels on Plexconnect and other Plex Clients and they are horrible experiences, at least when using PMS on OSX, I would avoid them like the plague.
The question is then, can we do hbo and Cinemax without the use of WebKit? Is it possible to create those channels without WebKit as the middle man?

Judging from the comments made by Sander1, Gerk, Shopgirl, Mikedm, et al, not at the moment and probably not until those providers are more cooperative with sharing APIs. This discussion has been repeated over and over again on the Channels forum; if you want to get more details I would go there and read the threads on Netflix and other WebKit channels.
I wouldn’t say it was a similar topic in reguards to mashup, that isnt webkit based at all, thats all ran on python for the most part from what I can tell. I wanted to get it ported to pms from xbmc but they keep locking my topics so I gave up on that, looks like quite a bit to get it wrote as a bundle because its such a huge channel on xbmc. I just have to switch from xbmc to plexconnect on my jailbroken atv2’s even though it would be nice to have it all on pms for pmc & pht as well.

Back to this topic, I was just trying to show users how to use maxgo if interested for the time being on the atv, which is a pain to set up so I was trying to simplify it if anyone else wanted to give it a shot, video streaming wise its great to have a ton of shows ready to play on your atv with some decent content be it atv or pmc, whats really nice about it is you can log into maxgo only once on pms and have it served to as many atvs or pmc’s (remote or local) as you want without logging in on each device. Just works well for me that is all I was trying to show everyone, if they wanted to have a maxgo/hbogo all in one solution for the time being streaming everywhere without having to many logins and locking you out of max/hbogo since pms uses it as one login, if that makes sense.
I just think encouraging people to use suboptimal, unsupported tech just because you want it to work is not the best strategy and will end up frustrating more Plexconnect users than it will benefit them. But I will exit this thread and let you do your thing now and in the future. It is like beating one’s head against a brick wall.
I hear you lol, I stir up some heated topics, I mean no harm by it. It just seems like they are all the bundles I want on pms, or the way I want certain things to function, im in sure time they will get there. I hope to see it all integrated without webkit one day for hbo/maxgo, but for now its the only way to get it on the atv at least for maxgo
