Is there a way to get my android plex client to passthrough hd aufio formats (like dts-ma or dolby true-hd) on my ugoos am6b plus device?
is this a known limitation of the device or the android plex client?
Hi, no solution yet? I’m in the same situation, factory Android 9.0 OS on the Ugoos AM6B Plus, official Plex from PlayStore (licensed), set to HDMI → transcodes all kinds of HD Audio formats to PCM. If i set it to optical instead of HDMI, at least the core AC3 and DTS streams are extracted and passed-through, just as expected on Toslink optical connection, but i have a HDMI connection to my Denon AVR-X 1500 receiver. I have tested every possible Android video player app, and current 21-beta and 20.3 CoreElec builds, to get a 100% solution to be aple to play DolbyVision (incl p7) content with HD Audio. Based on the results, Plex would be the best candidate (the rest simply doesn’t support p7 currently, or is at least buggy), this bug is the only problem which is really annoying, there are a lot Android apps which manage to passtrough every possible HD Audio format, it has to be a Plex bug/limitation, maybe device specific!?
with the latest CE 20.3 nightly, dv fel is working. I use it with plexkodiconnect addon and now we have the ultimate solution
