HD version of school play not appearing, SD version shows and plays

Our school provided both an SD version of the play this year and HD version. The HD version does not display in the library which is segregated from regular commercial rips of my movies.

Note that last year’s school play loaded the HD version with no issues.

Depending on how you named the files, Plex might have merged the 2 files as different quality versions of the same item.

If that’s the case, you should see that in the Plex user interface (here’s a few options):

  • :pencil2: > Info
  • ⋮ > Get Info
  • on the item’s details page

Nope. Only the SD version shows in the Get Info dialog. The file name for that one is V:\Plays and Performances\ND Beauty and The Beast SD.mp4. The file name for the HD version is V:\Plays and Performances\NDHS Beauty And The Beast HD.mkv.

You could use a 3rd party tool like WebTools-NG. The app allows connection to your server and export lists of data. You could use that to identify if the HD file is placed somewhere in that library and how the related item is named.
