Server Version#: 1.16.6.1592
I’ve followed the Plex naming convention for having multiple versions (different resolutions) for a movie (e.g. 720p and 1080p). I.e. In a properly named directory and arbitrary text following dash. It’s not working all the time. In the directory snapshot below, “Toy Story 2” shows up properly in the Plex server (as one movie with 2 versions), but “Toy Story” and “Toy Story 3” appear as individual movies. I’ve tried re-scanning that library multiple times with no effect. The “File Info” within Plex for each of the “Toy Story 3” files shows that Plex Server is seeing the correct naming (same for “Toy Story”).
UPDATE: So doing the “Plex Dance” (temporarily moving files out of the directory, Plex ack’s removal, put them back) caused Plex Server to properly see the files (and merge them). Will the Plex Dance ever be out of fad?
