This thread discusses a problem that has symptoms similar to what you describe, though I can’t find a way to definitely confirm the same root cause. If it was me I’d follow the recommended procedure that has worked for some people: remove tv.plex.*.* files followed by a reboot, though if I were doing it I would backup those files someplace else first.
