Server Version#:1.15.2.793
Player Version#:2.003
I have my Extend transcoder set to “Highest Quality” when recording OTA and when it creates the .ts files, they play ok on my web clients (better on VLC though). But my Samsung Plex app stutters the picture as if it were at about 5-10fps framerate. Audio is ok. Is this the current version for the player? How does it get updated? What else could be causing this issue? The dashboard looks the same for both players while loading, but changes dramatically while playback starts.
Are using an actual Plex app (e.g. download from Google Play or wherever) or are you using a web browser? If the latter, can you do the former? The Web Client isn’t very good at playing some formats…
No, this is with the Plex app, not the web browser. There are about 30 or so apps available on the Samsung. The Plex app is Version#:2.003 but I don’t see any way to check for updates (if there even are any). I hear some people are just using a Roku stick for Plex instead of the smart-tv apps because of quality issues.
I am puzzled why the bandwidth chart looks so different for the app vs web. It’s like limiting the amount of data it can take once the video starts.
