Since the latest Samsung update the Live TV grid on all of my Samsung TV’s have disappeared. Tablets, laptops, phones, etc all have the Guide tab and the Live TV grid. Is it a setting or can I side load an older version for the TVs?
I have a Samsung TV and I don’t recall that it ever had a grid guide like other clients. The forum here for Samsung TVs is filled with requests for it though.
Don’t know what to say, but our family has been successfully using it for like three years. I just noticed it last week, but my wife and kids noticed it immediately. I’m so confused…
Perhaps it was available previous to the UNO update with the new user interface? If so, it’s been gone since August or so. See for example: Live TV for UNO Samsung app
Well I just confirmed with Silicon Dust (HDHomeRun) that they have received many complaints regarding the latest Samsung/Plex update. The disappearance of the live tv and guide within the Plex app has been a very popular topic. Their reply indicated that this issue has been reported to Plex and fixes are being deployed on a weekly basis. I was told to wait it out… SMH
With the Latest Plex update the Samsung system will not display the live TV or local channels as it’s not communicating with the HDHomeRun. However in the computer format the channels are normal as you do have the Guide button. Tizen 3.0 does not have a guide button but selection the Home icon or LiveTV icon should show what on Live now. that is until this new update. Reverting back to the previous software restored the Live TV issue on the Samsung TV. If Plex takes away the Live TV function then I just as well use the Synology software to view my media.
Ever since the version a few weeks ago that changes the Live TV to “What’s On” Live TV on Samsungs with Plex is unbearable.
I have a 2016 8 series with Tizen 2.3 and a 2019 7 series with Tizen 4.0 and both behave the same way.
The Live TV shows eight boxes with shows. The eighth box used to be a more… box that took you to another screen with ALL of your channels showing what is currently on. Now the More… choice is gone and I can only see eight random shows that are on. My other choice is to go to browse and sift through +/- 18000 shows that are over, on now, or upcoming. The only filter for this is by channel, which cuts it down to several hundred. By the time I find something to watch, it’s over.
I just upgraded the server to 1.18.5.2309 last week and crossed my fingers for a fix, but still unusable.
I have to resort to a Fire TV or Roku to use their guide. Not happy.
