HDHomerun + Plex Live DVR Channels

I have a HDHomerun and a Quarto HDHomrun box. After I setup the HDHomerun settings I went in to remove the channels I do not want. Example, the non-english channels.

Now the HDHomerun player shows only the channels I want, however in Plex TV guide, it shows all 97 channels enabled. On the HDHomerun it only shows the 47 channels I want.

When I try and edit the 97 channels in the Plex Live/DVR settings it says 47 in grey but 97 enabled. But when I click it, it only shows 47 but when I goto the guide it shows all 97 channels.

Is there a way to get the guide to only show the 47 channels?

So, have you tried re-enabling all the channels that you disabled via HDHomeRun and then just disabling the ones you don’t want via Plex?

No I haven’t tried that. There is a scan channels, and also refresh guide in Plex DVR settings but I don’t know if that will fix this?

I ALSO USE HDHOMERUN. YES, I KNOW CAPS IS LIKE SHOUTING BUT I AM FRIGGING ANGRY AT POOR HELP. i HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND A WAY TO DISABLE OR REMOVE CHANNELS IN PLEX. I FINALLY FOUND A HELP DOCUMENT EXPLAINING HOW TO REMOVE CHANNELS, BUT IT REFERRED TO A CHANNEL MENU IN THE SIDEBAR AND THERE IS NO CHANNEL SETTING IN THE SIDEBAR. I HAVE WASTED THREE HOURS TRYING TO FIND HOW TO REMOVE CHANNELS AND STILL CANNOT FIND WHAT MUST BE A COMMON REQUEST.

  1. go to http://my.hdhomerun.com/
  2. make sure all channels are enabled in there
  3. go to http://app.plex.tv/desktop
  4. on the left, click on Settings
  5. on the left, scroll down to Live TV and DVR
  6. on the right, you should see something like “45 channels - 40 channels enabled”
  7. click on the “x channels enabled”
  8. you can disable channels as you like
  9. click save

Given that this is your first post asking for help on this issue, all caps are not necessary so please don’t do that again.

So make sure all channels are enabled on my hdhomerun and go into plex dvr and select or deselect the channels I want.

Wow thats kind of annoying. Why I have to do so much just to get it to work with in plex.

I should not have to enable all to disable them in Plex. Makes no sense but okay. Annoying wish I would have known this but…

Someone needs to fix that.

Having 100 stations some of which are non English makes it even more annoying to guess at the stations you don’t want. Hardly user friendly.

Thanks for the response.

You suggestions worked - the feature I needed was buried too deep into other menus, but I was able to determine my HD-homerun showed 94 channels, but signals for only 54 from Orlando were good enough to show up in Plex, and I was able to disable a bunch of ad driven channels and hispanic and religious channels, and now down to 32 channels that I want.
