The new Plex update (1.7.2.3878) is unable to find my HDHR Prime tuner. The previous version found it without any problems. Even with updated firmware to the HDHR, no luck. I’ve uninstalled and re-installed plex media server, tried repairing it, also no luck. Anyone have any ideas?
I had a similar issue. My fix was to take out my cable card then re-insert. Not sure if it will work for you but you can give it a try.

Thanks for the reply. Just tried pulling the card out with no luck. All my other TV apps that use it can see the HDHR Prime, just not Plex.
I also forgot to add in the original post, when I try to add the HDHR Prime manually with its IP address I can get the setup process to the very end where it says:
Setup complete!
You can now find your Program Guide and Recording Schedule in the sidebar under “Manage”. While we’re grabbing the guide data, you can start browsing; it will update automatically as we download what’s on.
On this last page of the setup I only have the option to close it. The “View program guide” option is grayed out and can’t be selected no matter how long I wait. If I hit close the DVR disappears.

Very late reply, but yep, firmware is up to date. The Plex server on my Nvidia Shield can see it fine, My PC Plex server however cannot and that’s where I want it to record. My HDHR app on my PC works fine, so the PC itself can definitely find it.
This is pretty old thread. Have you updated to the latest version of Plex since your original post stated you were on 1.7.2.

I sure have. Every update brings no joy.
Your PC Plex Server is a physical machine? What is the IP Address of the PC? What is the IP Address of the HDHR Prime?
The PC can see the HDHR fine in any other app and explorer. In fact, If I enter the ip manually in Plex under “Live TV and DVR setup” it will see the HDHR, but it will not complete the tuner setup process. It’ll go normally right up until the very end where it says, “Setup complete”. But, at the bottom of the window, “view program guide” is greyed out and I cannot click it. The only option I can click is cancel and then the setup needs to restart. Its been the same since 1.7.2.

Just to be sure, make sure ALL other apps on all computers/devices that even think of looking at/scanning/using your HDHR are turned off/disabled/uninstalled/disconnected while having Plex scan.
I’d go so far as to ensure the HDHR is power cycled using the power plug too.
If the server is wi-fi connected (EGADS…NO!!), at least as a temporary test, get it on the same wired Ethernet switch the HDHR is connected to and scan again.
Iv’e tried uninstalling all my other HDHR apps, I’ve tried pulling out the cablecard, I’ve tried power cycling the HDHR, I of course am using ethernet, and both the are wired into the same router.
