HDMI Pass Through on Shield Audio Sync Issue

I have audio sync issues that seem to be resolved by turning off HDMI pass through in Plex on Shield TV (not pro). I don’t have any sync issues with other streaming on the Shield just in Plex.

Is this a known bug?

Have you got resolution switching enabled?

I’ve recently purchased a shield (coming off roku) and with passthrough enabled the audio quality is very bad. Lots to booming and poor dialogue audio.

Disabling passthrough on the plex app fixes the issue and audio is then back to what I’d expect. I suspect the passthrough is not detecting my equipment correctly but haven’t had time to confirm.

BTW… Checking the plex dashboard it does not transcode with or without passthrough enabled.

Switch it on. You might be playing the media at a refresh rate different from the source.

Didn’t make a difference but thanks for trying.

Not having pass through is a show stopper for me, because it means no decoding on my receiver.

I don’t have this issue on my Roku.
