HDR tone mapping not working

Hi, I’m using Plex running on the Firestick 4k max connected to a 4k SDR TV
and I have a bunch of HDR content that I stream over the TV but all the HDR content looks very washed out and dull. I bought a Plex pass specifically for HDR Tone mapping and hardware acceleration thinking it would solve the issue but it seems that it’s not working. From my understanding, the content has to be transcoding and not direct play, but when I check the playback info, it’s always direct play, playing at original quality witch is 4k.
When I change the playback setting from original quality (4k) to 1080p, transcoding kicks in and the color pop.

For my Plex server, I’m suing an Intel 12900k cpu and a RTX 4090 running Windows 11. Any idea why that is? I was super excited when I heard about this feature.

Thank you very much, I have been trying for days trying to figure this out.
Is there a reason why it’s not done automatically like it supposed to?
