What happens if you play the same file on the iOS client?
i don't have an IOS client , but when i play it in the Plex server it's the same.
i just installed the plex player on mac and it's ok there.
the strange thing is that on my of my series i have an srt file and i see it ok and in the new movie i downloaded i see the subtitles in mirror view .
is there a way to make the Plex MS download automatically the subtitles - maybe it will fix this :
when i go to "settings" in the server and than to "Agents", under movies i see there's "Freebase" and there, there is "opensubtitles.org" and it's marked (it's in row 4 after "local Medi Assets" , Freebase and "the movie database").
but when i play a movie i don't have an srt file for it - i have no subtitles
do i need to do something special to make the server download subtitles automatically?
If it is the same in the web player then it is a PMS issue, you will need to report a bug in the Plex media server forum as it is not something that we can fix.
The desktop client has a lot of extra code in to work around issues like this but really it should be fixed at the server end if it is a bug rather than a configuration issue.
OK i think i found the solution in on of the forumes :
"Hi,
In case people are still having problems playing RTL subtitles, I have a solution.
You need to add the subtitle language to the end of the SRT file.
For example if the name of the movie file is 'cars2.mkv' and the name of the subtitle file is 'cars2.srt' you need to change the subtitle file to 'cars2.heb.srt' (this is example for hebrew).
Only tested in Hebrew but I am sure it will work with Arabic and all RTL as well.
Only tested on Plex Client 0.10.0 and PMS 0.9.5.2
Good luck"
Great - but i havent found the solution for the auto downloading subtitles :

I am afraid you will need to ask in the PMS forum for subtitle downloading as it does not take place on the clients as far as i am aware.
Glad you posted the info about RTL subs though, it should be helpful for others.
