I have done what you suggested. After restarting Plex, it starts as if for the first time (welcome image explaining how Plex works, server setup (it finds my DS but then gives an error saying “There was a problem claiming this server”) and then it sees my libraries). But this doesn’t fix the problem.
It just gets more confusing. It appears there is some network connectivity issue, but it makes no sense to me. I’m doing this on a laptop. I log into DS. Open Package Center. Launch Plex. Plex opens in a new browser tab. I can see my libraries. I can play some of my media. On others, I get “Codec not found” errors. But, I can’t claim the server, and I get an error message in the navigation bar that says “The server “DS218plus” is unreachable. Make sure it’s running, double check your network, and try again.” [But if the server is unreachable, how is it playing my media??]
When I use the Plex app on my TV, I can initially see the names of my libraries when the app launches. These then disappear, and I can’t see any of my libraries or media (computer and TV are on the same wifi network).
In DS, I can see my libraries and media. I can see the Plex folder in File Station. Plex has permissions to read/write library folders.
Strangely, when I try to enable quickconnect, it says "Domain name can’t be resolved. Please change your DNS server address to 8.8.8.8. I have done this, and I still get this error. Also, when I go to the Package Center, I cannot view “All” or “Beta” I can only see what is installed. I assume this means my DS is not connecting to the internet, but I can’t seem to figure out how to fix this.
Any idea wtf is going on here?
Thanks very much.
(In Plex Settings, I see no “Server” tab, so I don’t know how to provide the logs)
