Help getting Plex for Windows to run after downloading update

Server Version#: Up to date PMS running on my Mac mini
Player Version#: Plex for Windows 1.27.2.1599-7689068b

Hi - I run my PMS on a Mac and typically don’t access Plex from my Windows computer but I was attempting to use the Plex app for Windows I had installed on my Windows 10 computer but I knew it would be out of date so I checked for an update after signing in to plex.tv. An update was/is available so I downloaded it. That download was not seamless experience but it eventually completed the download. Clicked to install after it downloaded and got through the standard install without a problem. No warnings, errors, notifications, thunder or lightning crashing, house rumbling - I mean it just worked. Then I opened the freshly installed Plex for Windows desktop app. The Plex icon populated my task bar. And then nothing. Multiple clicks of the icon in the task bar - restarted my computer - reinstalled after uninstalling and then restarting again. Despite the lack of thunder, lightning or earth movements, my computer or the app released on the 2nd, I believe appears possessed or its DOA.

I have successfully managed my PMS across two separate Macs, for a while on a NAS and have used practically every player app across platforms and have a general idea of the Plex experience. So I am either growing away from my Windows experiences form my youth and don’t know some obvious trick (checked firewall settings too despite being merely feet away from the Mac and on the same LAN and everything) or maybe there is some other issue affecting the Windows Player app from Plex.tv or something.

Any constructive suggestions? Or I guess I’ll just use the web app for now.

Thanks
