Help moving to new plex server

Sorry. <brain-fart> :man_facepalming:

/var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Logs

(I’ve been working with the Linux packaging too much these past few days)

Well Duh I should have been able to pick up on that
ok they are incoming now Ill send them in a separate message

here comes the file logs.tar (1000 KB)

It really doesnt look like anything is wrong from the log perspective.

How are you attempting to access this? By it’s IP? 172.16.1.101 ?
There are no auth requests from anything inbound whatsoever.

I am accessing only so far on the web interface by that IP address …

I just realized, for which I apologize, I see you’re using Centos 8?

If correct, I’ve not been able to get PMS to work on Centos 8.
Can you confirm please?

ooops yes I am on CENTOS8 should I revert to 7?

Yes please. For now. I haven’t figured out why it doesn’t work.
I only know I can’t even get Centos 8 working right for me in VMWare for development purposes.

could that explain why I cannot even get the damn thing to show up and it appears as though I am a client when I login?

OK that didn’t help
I will attach logs but I cannot get anywhere with this… is there any way I can open a ticket or is that what I have effectively done here?
I am attaching a couple of screenshots …
I am just wondering how I can get to a configure media sources screen/? Why am I not seeing that ?

Thanks

I’m going to spend some time today and see if I can get Centos 8 to startup in VM.
Last I attempted, the installation screen failed with ā€˜page dead’.

Here’s what I get when attempting to install Centos 8.1

This looks like a DVD/installer error.
Suggestions?

Yup. There’s a problem with the kickstart file in use. EL8 & derivatives are enforcing begin and end tags now that were more or less assumed (terminate the previous section when a new directive is opened.) I’ve only made a cursory attempt to install CentOS8. Are you installing straight from an ISO image?

Yes. from CentOS-8.1.1911-x86_64-dvd1.iso downloaded from the pittsburgh mirror

Unfortunately, that’s probably worth a bug report to CentOS. :frowning: The only way around that is to use your own kickstart, and I’m not sure how to do that with an ISO image (I have a Katello installation here.)

I don’t mean to sound harsh but if they can’t get their act together, it’s their loss.
I have enough keeping the alligators at bay in my swamp
If you have the time and are willing to report it, please do take whatever you need.

Well this is centos 7 sorry I forgot to mention that
I changed over last night

OK so Ill get something created but this just seems to me like something I am doing wrong… any articles on how to set things up other than the obvious?
