Help - Not enough bandwidth - Roku - Plex server Version 3.2.1 hardwired with MoCa

I keep getting this error - Not enough bandwidth -
Its driving me crazy.
I am hardwired from (where the file is being played from and plex server is running) my computer - basically, ethernet- switch- to MoCa - downstairs MoCa-Switch- Roku (plex app is running) -HDMI-TV.
8-10 GB movie files fail every time

AC Linksys router

I am at a loss and very frustrated - any help?

Hello… Which Roku device are you using please?
Which MoCa switch are you using? Depending on your MoCa switch, you might be only getting 400Mbit/s out from it.

The Rok4
Actiontech - Bonded MoCA 2.0 Network Adapter ECB6200

The error is “your connection to the server is not fast enough to stream this video. check your network”

Nothing else is streaming or downgrading.

If I reboot the router and modem it will work for a little while

Thanks for the response and assistance

The ECB6200 has a max bandwidth of 1Gbps, which is more than enough speed. So it sounds like bandwidth is not the issue here at all.

You mention that the Plex server is your computer. I’m guessing it is either a desktop or laptop? In both cases, if you computer sleeps, or starts downloading updates, or starts something that is CPU intense, then you would see the error message that you mention. If it is a laptop running Windows, then there a lot of settings that could make the error happen.

Without knowing much about your computer, the next time you go to watch a movie with the Roku, try a few things…
-Make sure you computer is not set to sleep within the time of the media you want to watch.
-Temporarily disable anti-virus, auto updates, and screen saver.
-Make sure no one starts using the computer.
-Check the power profile of the computer and make sure it is not set to enable low power mode after a certain time.

Try that and you should not see the message while watching a lengthy or large movie file. If the message still shows up, then I’m not sure what else it could be. Since Plex server only requires a minimum of an Intel Core i3 (or equivalent) or faster and 2GB RAM, I’m sure your computer hardware is enough too.
