I’m not sure that’s accurate. I recently left Spectrum for another provider, but I can say that remote access worked and I used port forwarding to achieve it. As a matter of fact, I had it working up until the new provider started servicing my home. With a Spectrum modem, later my own, and lastly with a spectrum modem for the last 2 years. Are you using their equipment? I had only used their modem, always my own router.
I just bought a new netgear router and its doing the same thing. I am trying hard to set this up but i am at a loss what to do now
I am so disappointed that Plex cant help anyone but they dont realize that not everyone is tech savy.
You can’t just buy a router and expect it to “fix” a problem… the hardware isn’t the issue.
I’m sure your new router came with instructions. Is there anything in there about “Port Forwarding”?

Hi, is Upnp really unstable? I recently had to rebuild my plex setup as my old drive just had so many bad sectors it was starting to be unreliable bu now I’m back to an old issue with the new server. Remote access from outside my network just randomly stops working. I can’t do anything until I get to the physical server and restart it manually. You think this is a UPNP issue? I never had to setup port forwarding for Plex before so I wonder why now.
