Server on Mac running Mojave
Running Xfinity with a Orbi mesh router.
Bought a WD nas pr2100 Plex compatible.
Server Version#: 1.16.5.1488
Player Version#: 1.0.0.792
Ok I suck at networking. I had Plex up and working fine a few months ago but once I deleted the server accidentally I now can’t get Plex to recognize the same server. Trying to “open” all settings in my “.local” web settings for the drive and yes the WD app is downloaded and working . When I open Plex on Mac just keeps searching for servers.
- I can gain access on my cloud and recognizes in Macs Finder app and can access all files.
- rebooted everything
- my iPad actually recognizes new name for WD server in Plex “movies” tab and see it but says “(Unauthorized)” with a exclamation point in a orange circle.
- I am a Lifetime Plex member
- not sure if it matters but can’t download the western digital pr2100 NAS server from the Plex downloads because I’m on a Mac and does not open “Bin” file formats?
- PLEASE HELP! And if at all possible try to limit huge networking terms, lol. Sorry
