I recently had my computer crash and had to do a fresh install of the plex server. When it scans my library I am seeing doubles of items. When trying to search for an answer I am seeing people say things like:
Update the library manually (It appears how to do this has changed from what I can find. When I go to the individual library and hover over the 3 dots there is no update. I click on the library and there is not half circle to click on on the top right either.)
It says to empty the trash (I was able to locate this but since I didn’t manually update nothing is fixed)
Clean the bundles (This is not located in any of the places I have searched. I do see there is a button labeled optimize but I am unsure if this is what I need to do.)
Can anyone tell me how to make it so my data does not show up twice? I am running a simple setup with a windows 10 computer with a hard drive and streaming to Roku devices. I downloaded the logs and server data. I am unsure how to attach it since I am a newbie and do not see a simple attach button. I apologize if this is posted elsewhere but I am unable to find it.
Take a look at the Plex media info of such an item.
Are the two folder paths different or identical?
Edit your library,
go to the ‘Add Folders’ tab
Are there several folder paths listed or just one?
If there are several, do these paths overlap?
Does one of these paths point to an invalid path?
(it does no longer exist, its name or drive letter has changed)
Is one of these folders completely empty?
Thank you for your response. It is strange. It almost looks like one of them is named based off of the folder name and the other off of the title. One of them I can click on and get the get info and the other doesn’t have that option. So as far as I can tell the paths are identical.
I went to the add folders and there is only one path name for each. I don’t see any of the other questions you asked as there is only a single folder.
I just wanted to come back and say thank you so much. I appreciate your patience and help with someone who struggled for hours with something that should have taken minutes.
