I’ve noticed that when I stream HEVC encoded videos remotely through the web client that the resulting H.264 video doesn’t exceed the bitrate of the original video. So if I have a 1080p 2Mb HEVC video the resulting video doesn’t exceed 2Mb even though my internet connection can go up to 10Mb. During playback it shows “Convert (Maximum)” instead of the target resolution and bitrate. The resulting video quality is less than desirable to say the least. Why is it working like this?
